New Years Day Brunch
Now that the sound of sleigh bells is fast diminishing into the distance, be prepared for the next cultural item on the agenda. 11.30 to 2.00 p.m. on New Years Day. Be there or be hungry… Any volunteers to help with serving or clearing away would as ever be gratefully appreciated. In order that the...
Woohoo you’ve done it!
We passed our target yesterday evening so huge thanks to all those who donated.
Quay project – time is running out…
With only 11 days left to secure the Matched funding we are still only half way towards the totals we need. If we don’t raise pledges for £5000 from at least 40 supporters we will lose the grant and all pledges made will be returned to those who made them. To those who have supported...
Happy Christmas
Okay it’s a donkey not a camel, but Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Rock Sailing and Water Ski Cub
Boats and bits for sale
For those in need of more propulsion, there are a couple of useful outboards for sale on the club website, one of which I understand makes a Shrimper go faster. Nothing else seems to sometimes… And a Falmouth Bass boat too!
Quay crowd funding project

We need to increase that to £5000 for the matched funding to kick in, and we need at least 40 supporters. To support this just visit the crowdfunding page soon and follow the...
CRUK Christmas Market
Yes it’s that time of year again. And it’s in a good cause. No brainer really (and a mince pie)…

Commodore’s Newsletter – Autumn 2018 Now that the hot days and balmy nights of this summer are but a happy memory, and we are well and truly into autumn, I am very pleased to be able to report to you that we have had a busy and successful summer season at Rock Sailing & Waterski...
Winter Frostbite series 2018/19
Regrettably this series will not take place this year following the decision to undertake significant upgrades over the winter period to the men’s changing room, crew room, and the quay.
Camel Estuary seasonal difference time-lapse video
And if you liked that, try this. One long day in the summer holidays, one short day in mid-winter. No prizes for guessing which is which. With thanks to Susi Arnott
Spring Tide time-lapse video
Tidal time-lapse over a 24 hour period shows a 8m spring tide of the Camel Estuary in Cornwall. A shot was taken every minute and the footage demonstrates the true pace of the tide.
Doom Bar History
If you want to sail across some history next time you’re out, check out the wreck charts below. Don’t expect to see them at low tide however, as they are pretty much all broken up and buried. And afterwards?
