JCW – Prizes and Qualification Criteria
Below is the list of prizes awarded during Junior Camel Week and the eligability criteria.
Cornish Holidays Cup
Eligibility: Helm and crew between ages of 8 and 17 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Cornish Holidays Cup is awarded to the winning helm and crew of this race.
Junior Goblets
Eligibility: Helm must be under the age of 15 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649, helm/crew aged between 8 and 15 years
Details: The Junior Goblets Cup is awarded to the leading helm and crew less than 15 years of age in this race. No separate cup or trophy is awarded to the winner of the race if 15 years or over, but results count toward series points.
Bubbles Trophy
Eligibility: Toppers only, helm between age 8 and 17 years
Details: The Bubbles Trophy is to the winning Topper helm of this race. No separate cup or trophy is awarded for the overall winner of the race if not a Topper, but results count toward series points.
Junior Cup
Eligibility: Helm must be between 15 and 17 years of age, crew less than 17 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649,
Details: The Junior Cup is presented to the winning helm between 15 and 17 years, with crew less than 17 years.
Vicuna Cup
Eligibility: Helm and crew must be between ages 8 and 17
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Vicuna Cup is awarded to the winning helm and crew of this race.
Hendraburnick Cup
Eligibility: Helm and crew must be between ages 8 and 17 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Hendraburnick Cup is awarded to the winning helm and crew for the week’s races, who must also have taken part in the Swallows and Amazons competition.
Gull Trophy
Eligibility: Helm and crew must be between ages 8 and 15
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Gull Trophy is awarded to the helm and crew under the age of 15, with the best aggregate score for the series.
Denis Hapgood Trophy
Eligibility: Laser, helm/crew aged between 8 and 17
Fleet: Any Laser which is a monohull, PY 987-1649
Details: Awarded to the helm of any Laser with the best aggregate score in the series providing there have been at least two Lasers starting in each race in the series.
Rio Rita Cup
Eligibility: Topper, helm between ages 8 and 17 years
Details: The Rio Rita Cup is awarded to the highest placed Topper helm in the series
Dyas Cup
Eligibility: Female helm, aged between 8 and 17 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Dyas Cup is awarded to the most deserving female helm in the series, to recognise tenacity, endeavour, selflessness or the like; is awarded by the Race Officer.
Endeavour 2000 Trophy
Eligibility: Helm between ages 8 and 17 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Endeavour 2000 Trophy is awarded by the Race Officer to the most deserving young helm of the series not to have won a trophy.
Samson Deane Cup
Eligibility: Helm between ages 8 and 17 years
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: This cup is awarded to the helm placed 10th in the Junior Camel Week Series, in recognition that being in the middle of the fleet can be a good thing.
Junior Camel Week Champion Novice Trophy
Eligibility: Novice (not raced in Junior Camel Week before)
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Junior Camel Week , Champion Novice Trophy is awarded to the highest placed novice in the series
CEYS Trophy
Eligibility: CEYS Members only
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The salver is awarded to the highest placed CEYS helm during Junior Camel Week
Swallows and Amazons Competition
Eligibility: Teams as specified by the Junior Committee
Fleet: Monohulls, PY 987-1649
Details: The Swallows and Amazons award is made to the winning team in the competition.
Teams of two boats compete in the following events – or similar ones:
1. Capsize drills
2. Relay Race across the estuary
3. Ferry Race using a single boat
4. Man overboard pickup relay race
5. Any other events approved by the Sailing Committee
