Duty Roster

Online Duty Roster

We use the Dutyman system to provide an online interactive duty roster for Race Officer, Assistant Race Officer, and committee boat Driver duties.  This is to improve efficiency for all and to avoid the club having to manually check, chivvy or change member duties for every race.

Dutyman has several key features:

  1. Duty notifications are automatically sent by email
  2. Duty swaps can be arranged directly by members.
  3. Swaps are automatically updated and visible on screen.
  4. Availability for a duty can be confirmed on line.

Duty Confirmation

Please note that you have an obligation to confirm availability for your assigned duty/duties; if this is not done then manual checks are necessitated by the club and the benefit of Dutyman is negated.

Duty Swaps

If you cannot fulfil your duty, it is your responsibility to arrange a swap.   The online Sailing Duty Roster provides a facility which allows you to request synchronised swaps via email.  Click one of the links above and follow the instructions.

Multiple requests can be sent out as only the first positive response will be accepted and logged by Dutyman.

Alternatively a privately-agreed swap can be carried out between members; please ensure though that the swap is notified and confirmed via the online roster so that everyone else is informed and online reminders activated.

If you have a genuine reason why you cannot use Dutyman, please send details of your swap and a description of the problem to duties@rswsc.co.uk so that we can register your swap. If your email address is incorrect in the handbook or you have changed your email address please advise the club using this email address.

If you receive a request to swap a duty, please help out if you can.

Average Points

Instead of DNC, average points will now be awarded for helms on race duty at the club, so that their series results will not be compromised.  Average points in this case will mean the average that the helm scores in all races of the series not scored DNC.

In order to claim these points, a helm that is on duty will need to sign on as if they are racing and enter DUTY in the declaration.
