The very keen members of RSWSC took to the water over the festive season & New Year’s Day.
Now known as the Gordon Stokes thinking of you ski.
The cold & frosty weather and stiff wind attracted seven of the hardy skiers to take to the water.
This year we had a skier from France. Who do you think skied in a summer Shorty?
Having said that, the sea was a lot warmer than the lake at Thorpe which was frozen with 3 inch thick ice.

At 10.00am on January 1st,
Two boats arrived on the beach fuelled up and ready to ski.

One had fuel in it the other had full tanks but they were not in the boat! Faster than a Lifeboat shout Adam shot off up the road to pick up his tanks. He was back faster than a fast thing. I’m sure that the tale of the missing fuel will fade into folk law with the foggy day story.
On the falling tide the New Year skiers made their way to the ski area.
After we had all skied or wake boarded, it was back to the club house just in time for the New Years Brunch followed by a few pints of something less salty.
The clubs skiing calendar is set for the new season with all the favourite events; The VC cup, Kidzone training, Fly Navy & Junior Shield. Maybe the Banana challenge again!
Visit the club website www.rswsc.co.uk for more details.
The hardy crew were: Adam Duncan, Pam Miles, Richard, Pam, Bernard & Antoine Mattos, Dave Webb & Graeme Statton. Thanks to Adam & Richard for the boats. See the attached photo by clicking the link at the top of the page.
